CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina women's lacrosse advanced to the NCAA Tournament Semifinals with a 14-11 victory over Stanford at Dorrance Field on Thursday. It marks the 15th time that UNC has advanced to the semifinals, which is the third most in NCAA history. Carolina will play Maryland at the Final Four on Friday, May 22 for the right to play for the national title.
Kaleigh Harden stole the show today producing seven draw controls, seven caused turnovers and three groundballs. Her engine in the midfield made Stanford's life miserable. Overall, the Heels caused 14 turnovers and forced 20 turnovers overall.
Offensively, Chloe Humphrey and Addison Pattillo both posted hat tricks on the night and Caroline Godine and Eva Ingrilli each added a pair of goals. As usual, Kate Levy did what was needed and tallied a goal and three assists.
