Personal: The daughter of Rory and Kelly Regan • Born September 23 in Minot, N.D. • Member of the National Honor Society and the National English Honor Society • Recipient of the Presidential Silver Service Award • Served as the chairman of Race for a Reason 5k, a race sponsored by her high school’s DECA club to raise money to send a student with muscular dystrophy to a local summer camp • Was an AP Scholar with Honors • Received the Highest Achievement Award for Honors Spanish IV • Has done taekwondo for five years and has earned a black belt • Her sister earned a bachelor’s degree from UNC and has returned to Chapel Hill to get a doctorate in special education • Both of her parents were in the Air Force • Her father retired after 20 years of service with the rank of Master Sergeant.
