Trained at Morgan’s Gymnastics Academy in Smithfield, N.C., under the direction of Margaret Morgan Lee, Gary Lee and Taunia Davies • Attended Corinth Holders High School in Wendell, N.C. • Three-time state all-around champion with her high school team • Qualified for the 2013 Level 9 Eastern Nationals and the Level 10 Regionals • At the 2013 Level 9 Regionals, she placed second on the uneven bars and third in the all-around competition • Served as team captain for her high school and club team • The first gymnast in Johnston County, N.C., to join a college gymnastics program.

Born Lydia Peyton Davis in Kenly, N.C. • Birthday is July 4 • Daughter of Chris and Lynn Davis • Was junior class secretary and Student Body President her senior year • Member of national honor society, and health occupations students of America • Honor roll student every semester of high school and graduated top 10 percent of her class • Her father Chris played basketball in college and is now a basketball coach and english teacher at the same high school she attended • Has a younger brother Cavin.

What is the best thing about being at UNC? All the new experiences as well as the school spirit and fun atmosphere, academically and athletically.

Person who had the greatest influence on your career and why: My dad because he always taught me to go for my dreams

Funny or interesting fact about yourself: I “stress clean”
Favorite class at UNC: MEJO 101- The professor and class was really interesting and it sparked my interest in journalism.
At what age did you first start participating in gymnastics and what is your earliest memory of gymnastics? Age 8 – I remember first learning giants
The funniest nickname on the team belongs to: Madison Nettles – Nettles
