Cannizzaro Named Tar Heel Of The Week
For the third time this spring, Kara Cannizzaro has been named the Tar Heel Performer of the Week. The senior midfielder from Cazenovia, N.Y., led the Tar Heels to a 19-9 win over Loyola in the NCAA Tournament second round on Sunday. She tied her career high with five goals and seven points, leading all scorers in both categories on Sunday. Cannizzaro also reached the 50-goal plateau for the first time in her career. She has career highs of 50 goals, 17 assists and 67 points in 2013.
