Macaulay, Knight Claim All-America Honors On Day Two Of NCAA Championships

ATLANTA – University of North Carolina swimmer Mary Macaulay and diver Sofia Knight claimed All-America honors, while Macaulay set the 400 IM school record on day two of the NCAA Women's Championships.
Macaulay smashed her previous personal best in clocking a 4:05.61 to move to the top of the school's all-time list and finish 15th to earn honorable mention All-America honors. She opened with a 55.50 100 fly and followed that with a 1:02.30 in the backstroke leg. She turned in a 1:09.36 in the breaststroke leg and then closed in 58.45 to set the record.
Knight scored 271.60 in the 1-meter competition to finish 14th overall and claim her first honorable mention All-America honor. Her best dive of the day was a forward 2 ½ somersault pike that scored her 49.40 in round five of six. She added three separate dives of 46.80 en route to her overall score.
Samantha Armand tied for 21st in the 100 breast with a time of 59.26, while the 200 free relay of Kamryn Meskill, Michaela Chokureva, Mackenzie Headley and Eden Goettsch placed 26th in 1:29.7. Meskill led off for the group and clocked a 22.20 to move to No. 8 all-time at UNC in the 50 free.
The Heels will be back in action on Friday in the 100 back, 200 breast, 3-meter and 400 medley relay. Prelims are set to start at 10 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m. The entire Championships can be streamed on ESPN+.
