2022 (Senior): Saw action in five games for the Tar Heels
2021 (Junior): Played in nine games with two goals, one assist, and three ground balls • Scored a goal against Richmond and High Point
2020 (Sophomore): Took two shots against Lafayette and picked up a ground ball at Furman • Also saw game action against Colgate, Mercer and at Denver • Season canceled after seven games due to the COVID-19 pandemic • Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll • Tar Heel Scholar-Athlete for the spring and fall semesters of 2019.
2019 (Freshman): Appeared in three games, totaling one goal and one assist on the season • Opened his collegiate career with one goal against Duke on his first shot in Carolina blue • Had an assist at Virginia • Saw game action in the Tar Heels’ regular-season matchup against Syracuse • Named to the 2018-19 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Prep: Attended The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. • Was coached in lacrosse there by Shane Rye and Darren Lowe • Played club lacrosse for Sweetlax Florida • Academic All-America selection • Four-time first-team All-District selection • Two-time first-team All-Area honoree • Also named first-team All-Region once • MVP of both football and lacrosse teams at Benjamin • Named the outstanding athlete award covering his four years of attending Benjamin • Sweetlax national team participant.
Personal: William Michael Nicklaus is the son of Barbara and Jack Nicklaus, Jr. • Born January 15 in North Palm Beach, Fla. • Has four older siblings — two brothers, Jackie and Charlie, and two sisters, Casey and Christie • Majoring in business administration • Father played golf at Carolina in the 1980s and his grandfather is legendary golfer, Jack Nicklaus.
