One of three senior offensive linemen. Comes into preseason practice as the starter at left guard. Is the most experienced of the linemen with five career starts (all at center in 1998). Showed good mobility and an understanding of the new system in the spring. Needs to be a good leader for the young group of offensive linemen.
1999 -- Junior Season
Saw action in nine of the 11 games at center and guard. Played 255 snaps with a high of 48 against Florida State and 40 in the 38-0 win over Duke. Split time at center with Ryan Carfley and at guard with Mike Gimbol and Bryan Jones. Had 13 "domination" blocks.
1998 -- Sophomore Season
Started five of the first six games, but dislocated his kneecap against Wake Forest and missed the last five games. Saw action on 269 snaps, including a season-high 57 at Stanford and 56 against Clemson.
1997 -- Freshman Season
Played in all 11 regular-season games and the Gator Bowl. Was in on 85 snaps in the regular season and 18 in the bowl game against Virginia Tech. Saw his most extensive action against Wake Forest when he was in on 21 snaps. Also played on 16 snaps against Duke. Was red-shirted in 1996.
Franklin High School
Shrine Bowl participant. Was the highest vote-getter among linemen on the 1995 Associated Press All-State team. Was the Western Athletic Conference Lineman of the Year in 1995. Coached by Mitch Myers. Track team won the state title in 1994 and 1995. 1996 3-A champion in the shot put and was fourth in the discus. Set school marks in the shot (52-5) and discus (161-2).
Personal
Born Cameron Lee Holland on Aug. 17, 1978, in Griffin, Ga. Majoring in exercise and sport science. Favorite pro teams are the Oakland Raiders and Boston Celtics. Favorite athletes are Vince Carter and any of the Raiders. Other favorite sport is golf. Says the word that best describes him is "carefree." Post-school ambition is to teach and coach. Hobbies are golf and fishing.
