   Played his best football after earning the starting spot midway through the 2006 season  Was particularly impressive against Georgia Tech's All-America wide receiver Calvin Johnson, limiting him to just three catches for 13 yards and forcing a fumble. 
2006 - Freshman Season
 Played in 11 games and started the final five  Made his first career start vs. Wake Forest  Had 18 tackles and five pass breakups  Had his best game vs. Georgia Tech, holding All-America wide receiver Calvin Johnson to just three catches for 13 yards  Also forced Johnson to fumble after delivering a crushing hit immediately after Johnson caught the pass  Had five tackles vs. Georgia Tech, four vs. NC State and four at Duke  Had a season-best three pass breakups vs. NC State  Redshirted in 2005. 
Crest High School/Fork Union Military Academy
 Two-year starter at Shelby High School  Helped Crest win the 3-A state championship as a senior in 2004 and earned all-conference honors  Caught a 67-yard pass for a touchdown and set up a score with a 33-yard reception in the title game  Coached by John Shuman at Fork Union
