Bio
General: Coach Breschi says he is the consummate professional at the defensive midfield position...had a terrific 2016 season...Breschi says he expects his leadership to be big for some of the younger guys at that position...three-year letter winner...played a prominent role as one of Carolina’s top short stick defensive midfielders in each of the last two years...had shoulder surgery in fall 2016 but expects to be 100 percent by the spring season...was an excellent addition to Carolina’s strong corps of freshman midfielders in 2014.
2016 (Junior): Played in all 18 games...one of team’s top three short-stick defensive midfielders...scored only goal of season in win at Duke...had seven ground balls and six caused turnovers...had season high two ground balls against Johns Hopkins.
2015 (Sophomore): Played in 16 games, missing only the Colgate game...had five ground balls and two caused turnovers...had a pair of ground balls versus Bryant...took five shots and scored a pair of goals...tallied against Manhattan and in the ACC Tournament semifinals versus Syracuse.
2014 (Freshman): Played in three games at midfield for the Tar Heels…recorded his first career shot against Manhattan.
Prep: Graduated from Severn School in Severna Park, Md., in 2013...coached in high school by Brian Wood…four-year starter on the lacrosse team there…had 155 career points with 109 goals and 46 assists…had 30 or more goals in each of his last three years of high school and a career best 19 assists as a sophomore…nominee for Kelly Award as outstanding player in MIAA as a senior…named first-team All-MIAA his final two seasons…two-time first-team All-County selection…captained team his final year…second-team All-State as a junior and second-team All-Metro and first-team All-State as a senior…played in state all-star game as a senior…earned spot in Under Armour Underclassmen Games...led Severn to state playoffs his junior year.

Every high school recruit should dream of becoming a Tar Heel because of the opportunity to win.
