General: No one works harder on the team...he was the MVP of the weight room during the 2015-16 national championship season...works really hard off the field...played second midfield this past fall...Coach Breschi thinks he’ll be able to help Carolina on and off the field this spring as a senior leader...was a role player his first two years at Carolina who worrked very hard...a guy who everyone on the team roots for.
2016 (Junior): Played in three games last year, seeing action against Furman, Manhattan and Virginia...named to ACC Academic Honor Roll for second straight year...Iron Ram Award winner as hardest worker on the team.
2015 (Sophomore): Played in three games in his first year at Carolina...had a goal and an assist in victory over Manhattan...saw action against Furman, UMass and Manhattan...scooped up two ground balls...named to ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2014 (Freshman): Attended Denison University in Ohio…set the Denison freshman scoring record with 51 goals and 71 points…named to the All-NCAC first team…voted NCAC Newcomer of the Year and team’s rookie of the year…added 20 assists and 27 ground balls while taking a team-high 106 shots…his 51 goals were the sixth-most in a season in Denison history…scored five goals on two occasions…named to the NCAC All-Tournament Team after scoring seven goals in two contests.
Prep: Attended Deerfield Academy for a postgraduate year in 2013 after graduating from the Nichols School in 2012…played for coaches Chip Davis at Deerfield and Thomas Franz at Nichols…as a senior at Nichols School he was named first team All-Metro and Team MVP…three-time All-League selection…totaled 209 career points, with 121 goals and 88 assists…scored 86 points (53 g, 33 a) as a senior and 77 points (42 g, 35 a) his junior year…also excelled in his post-graduate year at Deerfield.
Personal: Lucas Holton Clifton Walsh is the son of Theodore Walsh and Amy Clifton...was born September 30, 1993 in Buffalo, N.Y…has two older brothers, Ben, 27, and Sam, 29…won the Deerfield Head of School Award…the only postgraduate student to achieve that distinction…won the Alumni Cup at Nichols School as the top male sportsman of the senior class...journalism major.

My favorite thing about wearing Carolina Blue is honoring this great university.
I love competing for this incredible coaching staff because they challenge us to be better people every day.
My most underrated strength about my lacrosse game is my will to make plays.
My best friend on my high school lacrosse team was Joe French and he is now playing at Virginia.
Every high school recruit should dream of becoming a Tar Heel because you will be challenged to provide your best effort each day.
Section #2: Your Interests
An ideal Saturday afternoon in the summer is spent at my cottage in Georgian Bay, Ontario.
My teammate with the best taste in music is Jordan Prysko because of his interest in Lead Zeppelin.
My favorite professional sports team is the Buffalo Sabres.
The best movie I’ve ever seen on a lacrosse bus trip is Slap Shot.
The foreign country I would love to visit most is New Zealand because of the opportunities to surf and hike.

My favorite tailgate food is honey barbeque wings.
My favorite fast food restaurant is Jim’s Steakout because it is a Buffalo spot.
Sweet, salty or both? Both.
My favorite food made by a relative is grandma Sally Walsh’s ginger snaps.
My favorite Chapel Hill dining spot is Sutton’s.
Section #4: Digging into your Personality
If I possessed the gift of time travel, I would go to Feb. 22, 1980 in Lake Placid, N.Y.
The person in history I would most want to have dinner with is Bobby Orr.
People would be very surprised to know I love to sing.
In a quarter century I would love to be living in Madrid and working at Real Madrid.
The most interesting or fascinating person I’ve met in my time at UNC is Jake “Shooter” Matthai because he is a beauty.
