He's a physical specimen. When we tested him he had the highest vertical on the team. He's one of the hardest and most successful workers in the weight room.
Not only can he play close defense, we can put him at pole because he has tremendous speed.
It was fun to see him develop in fall ball.
Possesses great open field speed.
General: A 6-0, 205-pound defenseman...talented freshman who can play both close defense and pole.
Prep: A stellar defenseman in the Class of 2015 for the Tar Heels...played in the 2011 Under Armour All-American Classic...a native of West Chester, Pa., he played his prep lacrosse at the Salesianum School in Wilmington, Del., where he was coached by Bob Healy...was a four year varsity defenseman on the lacrosse field and played football for three years as a running back...was also an excellent football player in high school...a multi-accomplished player on the lacrosse field, he was a 2010 and 2011 All-America selection and was named All-State three straight years from 2009-11...was the Delaware player of the year and Salesianum team MVP as a senior when he scooped up 104 ground balls and scored four goals and had 13 assists...led his squad to an undefeated season that ended in a state championship in 2009, another state crown in 2011 and state finalist spots in 2008 and 2010...was honored as an ESPN Warrior Top 40 selection and was a member of the Philadelphia Under Armour Underclassmen Team...on the gridiron, he was the Gatorade state player of the year team MVP as a senior...two-time All-State selection...he rushed for 1,721 yards and scored 25 touchdowns his senior year and totaled over 4,000 rushing during his career...honors student at Salesianum and member of National Honor Society.
Personal: Ryan Thomas Kilpatrick is the son of Jerry and Meg Kilpatrick...was born October 1, 1992 in West Chester, Pa. ...business administration major...his father played football at Syracuse...has a brother who plays lacrosse at Franklin and Marshall.

Section #1 (Lacrosse Related)
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel lacrosse player is being a part of the team and family atmosphere every day and competing for a national championship.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach Breschi is his passion and dedication to making us better players and people.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is stick skills.
4. My best friend on another college lacrosse team is my brother, Kevin Kilpatrick (Franklin and Marshall College).
5. My greatest strength as a lacrosse player is quickness.
Section #2 (Ryan's Interests)
1. Away from the lacrosse field and academic pursuits I like to spend time hanging with friends.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is The Lincoln Lawyer.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be football.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is J.Cole.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is playing Xbox.
Section #3 (Food and Beverage)
1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a tailgate spread that included grilled chicken and pasta.
2. My favorite beverage is Propel.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is mom's rigatoni and meatballs.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is Spanky's.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is a Hershey bar with almonds.

1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to go to a gladiator fight in Rome.
2. My most prized personal possession is the basketball hoop in my dorm room so I can constantly beat Joey Sankey.
3. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be Kim Kardashian.
4. My dream job is...not sure yet.
5. The most interesting person I've met at UNC is my EDUC 441 professor.
