NOTING COPELAND
One of five scholarship seniors • Suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in a pickup game in May • Had corrective surgery in early June • Could be out of action until mid-season • Has played in 71 games with 72 points and 53 rebounds • Has made 58.7 percent of his shots from the floor.
JUNIOR SEASON (2007-08)
Appeared in a career-high 25 games, scoring 30 points and grabbing 21 rebounds • Made 12 of 18 shots from the floor and had a career-high eight blocked shots • Matched his career-high with eight points against Kent State • Grabbed five rebounds against Kent State and four in both games against Virginia Tech • Came off the bench in the ACC Tournament semifinal against the Hokies and gave the Tar Heels a lift with a basket and four boards • Saw action in four NCAA Tournament games.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2006-07)
Played in 20 games, scoring 18 points and grabbing 15 rebounds • Made 7 of 14 shots from the floor (50.0 percent) • Netted a season-high four points against both Rutgers and Miami • Also had three points against Wake Forest • Pulled down a season-high three rebounds against Gardner-Webb and Penn.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2005-06)
Played in 16 games, scoring 24 points and pulling down 17 rebounds • Made 8 of 14 shots from the floor (57.1 percent) and 8 of 12 from the free throw line (66.7 percent) • Scored a season-high eight points, including 6 of 6 from the line, and had five rebounds against Cleveland State • Scored six points in home win over Virginia and five in home victory over Maryland.

Named second-team all-state at R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston- Salem by the Associated Press in 2005 • A two-time All-Central Piedmont Conference pick • The 2005 CPC Player of the Year • As a senior, averaged 17.8 points, 9.1 rebounds and 4.1 blocks per game • Attended same high school as former Carolina teammate Reyshawn Terry • Both Copeland and Terry played for head coach Howard West at R.J.
