General: Three-year returning starter in the attack unit for the Tar Heels...has started 42 of 44 games over the past three years...preseason honorable mention All-America by Face-Off Yearbook and Inside Lacrosse...has led the Tar Heels in scoring in each of his first three years...coaches say he has the best shot on the squad...equally adept at dodging and going to the goal himself or feeding the open man...scored at least one point in 38 successive games before the streak was ended by Ohio State last year...the streak started in the third game of the 2006 season versus Denver...was one of the top-ranked high school attack recruits in the nation in 2005.
2008 Season (Junior): A preseason third-team All-America selection by Faceoff Yearbook/Inside Lacrosse Magazine...started all 14 games for the Tar Heels...paced the Tar Heel team in points with 34 and assists with 16 and was third in goals scored with 18...was third on the team in ground balls with 36...had at least one point in 13 of 14 matches...scored two game-winning goals, four man-up goals and one man-down goal...matched his career high for goals in a game with four against Marist...his six-point total against the Red Foxes was his career high mark...scored two man-up goals and also had a man-down goal against Marist...had game-winners against Bellarmine and Providence...had four-point games against Providence (3g, 1a) and against Cornell (2g, 2a)...had a season-high three assists versus UVa...had two goals and an assist versus Navy and three-point games versus Bellarmine and Hofstra (1g, 2a in both matches)...had two goals against Duke in the regular season and two assists in the victory at Denver...also had a career high in ground balls in the win over Marist with eight...also had five ground balls against Notre Dame and against Duke in the ACC Tournament and four versus Bellarmine.
2007 Season (Sophomore): Led the Tar Heels in scoring with 44 points...finished first on the team in assists with 21 and third in goals scored with 23...was fifth on the team in ground balls with 51...that ground ball total was the leading total for any Tar Heel attackman ...started all 16 games in 2007...had at least one point in each of UNC's 16 games...scored a season-high four goals in the regular season game against Duke and at Virginia...had a career-high four assists against Vermont...had a season high for points with five each against Ohio State (2g, 3a), Vermont (1g, 4a), Virginia (4g, 1a) and Providence (3g, 2a)...had a three-assist match versus Dartmouth...had four points against Duke in the ACC Tournament (1g, 3a) and three points against Navy in the NCAA Tournament (2g, 1a)...had a season-high seven ground balls versus Providence and six ground balls versus Virginia...member of All Men's Lacrosse All-Academic Team...shared the Turnbull Trophy as the team's most valuable player.
2006 Season: Won the Jay Gallagher Award as the outstanding freshman...played in all 14 games, starting 12 times...led the Tar Heels in points with 29, in goals with 15 and in assists with 14...ranked fourth on the team in ground balls with 38...had game-winning goals against Ohio State and Providence...had a season-high five points against Ohio State (3g, 2a)...those three goals were also a season high...his high game for assists was against Fairfield with three...had four points in a game three times - Notre Dame (2g, 2a) , Fairfield (1g, 3a) and Providence (2g, 2a)...also had a two-goal game against Johns Hopkins ...against Navy and Virginia he had a goal and an assist...claimed a season-high six ground balls against Ohio State...had four ground balls against Air Force, Denver, Providence and against Maryland in the ACC Tournament.
Prep: A 2005 graduate of St. Paul's School in Brooklandville, Md ....an outstanding all-around athlete there...played four years of varsity lacrosse, three of varsity soccer and two seasons of varsity basketball...captained the soccer team twice and the lacrosse team one year...high school All-America on the lacrosse field...named All-MIAA in both lacrosse and soccer...named to All-Tewaaraton Team ...named the 2005 Towson Times high school athlete-of-the-year...recognized as St. Paul's outstanding athlete in 2005...second-team All-State selection as a senior and first-team All-State as a junior in lacrosse...Baltimore Sun second-team All-Metro and All-City/County as a junior...was St. Paul's leading goal scorer his sophomore through senior years...honor roll student his senior year.
