General: A three-time rerturning letterman who has developed into one of UNC's steadiest defensemen...has seen action in every game since his arrival in 2002...should provide excellent leadership as he most likely will return to a starting position on defense in 2005...started all 13 games on close defense for the Tar Heels in 2003...was one of the team's top additions in the 2002 season and saw considerable playing time as a freshman.
2004 Season: Made great contributions in all of Carolina's 15 matches despite seeing his role as a starter slightly diminish...started one game but was the first Tar Heel off the bench at the close defense position...made strides as a leader and became an exemplary worker on the practice field...made the ACC Academic Honor Roll for the second straight year.
2003 Season: Really came into his own as a sophomore defenseman for the Tar Heels...earned a starting role on close defense...started all 13 games...committed only two penalties all year despite starting every game...had 14 ground balls on the season...had a season-high three ground balls against Duke and against Virginia in the regular season game...named to the 2002-03 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll.
2002 Season: Had a solid freshman season for the Tar Heels as he played in all 13 games as a long stick midfielder and reserve on close defense...had 14 ground balls on the season including a season-high three against Bucknell...also had two ground balls against Denver, Fairfield and in both games against Virginia.
Prep: Graduated in June 2001 from St. Pauls School in Brooklandville, Md....played three years of varsity lacrosse there as a defenseman...lettered in varsity football as a junior and senior...played tight end and middle linebacker on the football squad...while on the lacrosse team, he earned second team All-Metro honors and first team All City/County accolades as named by the Baltimore Sun in his junior season...was an honor roll student at St. Pauls.
