Stephen Toomy is in his second year as the director of men's lacrosse operations at the University of North Carolina. Toomy came to Chapel Hill in August 2011 after spending two years as an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator at Western New England College in Springfield, Mass. He assisted with the defense and the goalkeepers at WNEC.

In 2011, he coached the WNEC goalkeeper to ECAC Defensive Player of the Year honors and All-America accolades.

Toomy is a 2009 graduate of Western New England College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He played defense on the Golden Bear lacrosse team for four years and was a three-time second-team All-Conference selection as a defenseman.
