General: A three-time returning letterman who is one of four captains of the 2005 Tar Heel team...one of the leaders of the Carolina squad...an excellent example for underclassmen on and off the field...a strong challenger to move into the starting lineup on close defense as a senior...has shown marked improvement in practice over the past year as he looks to increase his playing time.
2004 Season: Continued to rebound from his 2003 injuries, appearing in four games and showing priceless leadership on the practice field...appeared in games against Denver, UMBC, Limestone and Ohio State.
2003 Season: Was hampered by injuries for most of his sophomore year...was able to only see action in one game, playing against Air Force in the season finale.
2002 Season: Showed great improvement while seeing spot duty as a Tar Heel in his freshman year...played in nine games overall...had four ground balls...saw most of his action as a wing on faceoffs and a long stick middie...named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Prep: Graduated from the Landon School in Bethesda, Md. on June 6, 2001...played four years of varsity lacrosse there as a defenseman and long pole midfielder...also played three years of varsity basketball as a shooting guard and three years of varsity football as an outside linebacker and wing back...was the captain of the Landon lacrosse and basketball teams as a senior...was named first-team All-State, second-team All-Metro and first-team All-Journal as a senior in lacrosse...earned honors on the Bay State Team...named first team by the Journal and the Gazette all-star teams...won the lacrosse team's leadership and coaches awards...played on a Landon lacrosse team his senior year which was ranked No. 1 in the nation, No. 1 in the state and won its 21st straight IAC title his senior year...his sophomore year the lacrosse team was also ranked No. 1 in the nation...as a football player he won the team's leadership award and was named second-team All-IAC...was the captain of the basketball team and won the squad's leadership award...volunteered with Operation Smile and the Ivymount tutoring program.
