• T.J.'s got tremendous speed. We're working on his lacrosse IQ to catch up to his athleticism because he's a tremendous athlete.
• Can shoot on the run both right-handed and left-handed.
• I think he's a great athlete that can break down a defense and we'll continue to try and put him in positions so he can be successful on the field.
General: Returning letter winner who adds terrific depth in the midfield...stands 6-1 and weighs 212 pounds...one of the team's best all-around athletes.
2011 (Freshman): Played in four games as a reserve midfielder for the Tar Heels...saw his most action against Presbyterian, taking four shots...had ground balls against both Penn and Presbyterian.
Prep: Played midfield for the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn., for coach Troy Kemp, Sr., his father...2010 Under Armour All-America selection...copped U.S. Lacrosse and adidas All-American kudos two times each...first-team All-State selection three times...named state of Tennessee's Mr. Lacrosse...Inside Lacrosse's No. 29-ranked Young Gun Rising Senior...earned LaxPower All-South Team distinction...led McCallie to state titles as a junior and senior and to a runner-up finish as a sophomore...was member of first team in Tennessee state history to be ranked in Top 25 nationally...played for Midwest Team in 2009 Under Armour All-America Tournament...2008 and 2009 adidas All-America selection...finished his career with 74 goals, 31 assists and 270 ground balls while winning 72 percent of his face-offs...had 28 goals, 16 assists and 98 face-off wins as a senior and 30 goals, 10 assists and 114 face-off victories as a junior...ran for 676 yards and scored seven TDs for football team as a senior...Best of Preps running back his senior year...was also a varsity wrestler and member of men's chorus.

Personal: Troy Fred Anthony Kemp, Jr., is the son of Troy Kemp, Sr. and Diane Kemp...goes by the initials T.J. ... was born August 17, 1991 in Philadelphia, Pa. ...has two younger sisters...undeclared major...his father played football at Colgate as a safety, his mother played basketball and uncle, Ron Anderson, played in the NBA from 1983-94, scoring over 7,000 career points...his cousin Ron Anderson, Jr., played basketball at Kansas State and USF.

1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel lacrosse player is the brotherhood.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach Breschi is he's an incredible competitor.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is lacrosse IQ.
4. My best friend on another college lacrosse team is Patton Watkins (Tufts Goalie).
5. My greatest strength as a lacrosse player is shooting hard with both hands.

1. Away from the lacrosse field and academic pursuits I like to spend time playing FIFA.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is The Help.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be soccer.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Tiesto or Avicii.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is I love to read and listen to people sing.

1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a tailgate spread that included hamburgers, baked beans and Dr. Pepper.
2. My favorite beverage is Dr. Pepper.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is beans and franks.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is [B]Ski's.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is that I eat way too much candy.

1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to watch Barcelona decimate Real Madrid 5-1.
2. My most prized personal possession is anything given to me as a gift from a family member.
3. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be Michael Vick.
4. My dream job is doing something to help out kids that don't get the same opportunities as others.
5. The most interesting person I've met at UNC is The Columbus Thunderbolt.
