Spencer Wirtheim joined the Carolina men's lacrosse coaching staff in the fall of 2025.
During his lone season as a player with the Tar Heels in 2025, Wirtheim appeared in all 15 contests, earning the start in 13 games. The midfielder finished the campaign with seven goals and 15 assists, recording a point in nine games.
Prior to his time in Chapel Hill, the Baldwinsville, N.Y. product spent five seasons at Cornell, earning honorable mention All-Ivy League honors in 2024. During his junior campaign in 2022, Wirtheim played in 17 games for the Big Red, scoring a goal and adding an assist in the national championship game.
