Jessica Imhof is in her second season (2020-2021) as part of the North Carolina women’s basketball staff. She joined the Tar Heels in 2019 as the Director of Scouting and Video Operations.
She oversees the program’s scouting responsibilities, organizes team film, cuts practice and game film, reviews analytics, draws plays, and has an active role with the Tar Heels’ offense and special situations.
Imhof is also in charge of the program’s social media reach, creating graphic and video content for posting on Twitter and Instagram. Furthermore, she serves as the team’s liaison to the athletic training department, strength and conditioning department, sports information department, brand management, and the women’s basketball interns. During the spring of 2019, Imhof was able to go on the road recruiting in place of an assistant coach.
Before North Carolina, Imhof worked one season under head coach Courtney Banghart at Princeton University as the Director of Basketball Operations. During the 2018-2019 campaign, the Tigers reached the NCAA Tournament after winning the Ivy League regular season and tournament titles.
Prior to her move to Princeton, Imhof spent three seasons (2015-2018) at Virginia Commonwealth University. She was the Administrative Assistant for four months before being promoted to Video Coordinator for the next three seasons. At VCU she was responsible for the program’s scouting preparation, opponent player personnel, and video breakdown and analysis. Additionally, she live coded practices and games, created content for the Rams’ social media platforms and recruiting, and assisted in practice planning and game day preparation. She served as a liaison to the sports information department, statistician groups, facilities, and practice players. During the summer and fall of 2017, Imhof was able to go on the road recruiting in the place of one of the assistant coaches.
Before VCU, she was a two-year graduate assistant for the Elmira College women’s basketball team where she was involved in every facet of the program’s operation. During her tenure, Imhof served as the program’s Recruiting Coordinator and organized national recruiting efforts to bring in back-to-back All-Conference Rookie of the Year selections. In 2014, she served as the position coach for an All-Conference Player of the Year who was also named to the D3Hoops All-American team. She earned her master’s degree in General Education from Elmira in 2015.
In 2013-2014, Imhof was on the bench of The College of New Jersey’s women’s basketball team, serving as an Assistant Coach to her alma mater. As an Assistant Coach, she was responsible for the recruitment of players, film breakdown, game preparation, and designing workouts for the perimeter players. She also collaborated with the head coach on decisions during games.
Imhof played four seasons for the Lions, helping them reach the NCAA Division III National Semifinal game in 2009. She was a first-team All-Conference performer and finished her career ranked in the top 10 in numerous statistical categories. She graduated from TCNJ in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Business and a minor in Sociology.
Imhof has been a WBCA member since 2013.
