CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - UNC Head Track and Field Coach Dennis Craddock has completed the early signing period for the 2000-01 season with one of his best recruiting classes. The class includes three national number one recruits. The rest of the class includes third-ranked shot-putter Adriann Leshewski from Morris, Ill., fifth-ranked miler Victoria Jackson of Lake Bluff, Ill., and eleventh-ranked Amy Parulis from Niantic, Conn. in the javelin. The class also includes three top in-state recruits in number one cross country runner Ariel Glassman from Hendersonville, sprinter Anissa Gainey of Clayton and hurdler Summer Knowles of Raleigh.
"This may be one of the best, if not, the best early seasons we've had in the 15 years I have been at Carolina," said Craddock. "We are very excited because all of our signees are not only excellent athletes, but also excellent students."
