UNC Head Coach Bill Guthridge "It was 41-40 and then we did some good things. Ed Cota made good decisions, made good calls and didn't turn the ball over."
"That was Brian's [Bersticker] best game. He did a good job defensively and made some shots. I'm really happy for him."

UNC Center Brendan Haywood "It was very tough. We didn't do everything we wanted to heading into halftime. But in the second half we executed on offense and played really good defense."

Georgia Tech Head Coach Bobby Cremins "What's happened the last five or six games happened again. We hung around, we get back in the game, and then boom, it just gets away from us. We needed some jump shots. We needed somebody to make some big plays. When Collier hit the three, I was really starting to feel good. I thought we definitely had a chance. But North Carolina was very explosive."
