Don Hill 12th at Savane College Golf Classic

EL PASO, Texas - University of North Carolina golfer Don Hill finished 12th at the 1998 Savane College All-America Golf Classic. Hill, a senior from Mount Olive, N.C., fired a pair of 70s in the first two rounds followed by a 73 in the final round. The 54-hole event was played at the El Paso Country Club, a par 71, 6,781-yard layout, and featured 23 of the nation's top golfers.
Jeremy Anderson of UNLV captured this year's title with a 201 total after firing an eight-under-par 63 in the final round. David Christensen of East Tennessee State finished two strokes back in second place with a 203 total. Ben Curtis of Kent State finished third at 206 while Hunter Haas of Oklahoma finished fourth at 207 and Eric Ecker of South Carolina finished fifth at 208.
Hill has three top-15 finishes in all three of Carolina's tournaments thus far this fall. He was the runner-up at the Keswick Club Cavalier Classic, tied for 12th at the Duke Golf Classic and tied for 14th at The Ridges Intercollegiate. The Tar Heels conclude their fall campaign this week at the Mauna Kea Resort Collegiate in Kohala, Hawaii.
