John Haus To Make Chapel Hill Coaching Debut Friday Versus Alumni

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - After a solid performance last weekend in the Coaches vs. Leukiema Tournament held at the McDonogh School in Baltimore, Md., the 2000-01 University of North Carolina men's lacrosse team plays its final exhibition of the fall season, battling the Alumni Team this Friday at Francis E. Henry Stadium on the UNC campus. Opening faceoff will be at 8 p.m.
The game will mark the Chapel Hill coaching debut of new UNC head men's lacrosse coach John Haus, a 1983 Carolina graduate who was named the Tar Heels' head coach this past June after four seasons as head coach at Washington College and the past two years as head coach at Johns Hopkins University. Carolina sojourned to Baltimore last weekend to play exhibitions against Washington College, Towson, Cornell and Loyola. The Alumni Game will be the final public exhibition of the fall ball season. The Tar Heels are slated to open their spring season at home against Fairfield University on February 18.
Friday night's Alumni Game will be open to the public. There is no admission charge. The game will be played in four 20-minute quarters with a running clock. As of Wednesday the Alumni Team had the following confirmed returnees from years past.
