UNC's Teasley Earns ACC Player Of the Week Honor

Junior guard Nikki Teasley has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the week after averaging 17.7 points and 6.0 assists in three games last week.
On Feb. 7, Teasley led the Tar Heels with 24 points in a 66-63 overtime win over Virginia in Chapel Hill. She scored 18 points in the second half, including UNC's final 10 of regulation, and her two free throws with 25 seconds on the clock tied the score at 57-57 and sent the game into overtime.
On Feb. 10, Teasley scored 18 points-including two three-pointers in the final 12 seconds of play-in her team's 69-65 loss at Clemson.
On Feb. 13, Teasley scored 11 points and dished out a season-high 12 assists as UNC beat visiting Georgia Tech 85-62. In 32 minutes of play, she did not commit a single turnover.
Over last week's three-game span, Teasley was 17 of 18 from the free throw line and is now shooting 82.7 percent from the free throw line for the season.
Teasley missed seven games in January while on a leave of absence from the team. Since returning to the lineup five games ago, she has come off the bench to average 15.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists while committing just 2.4 turnovers per game. For the season, Teasley is averaging 14.4 points and 4.1 assists per game.
The Tar Heels (13-11 overall, 5-8 ACC) host Wake Forest on Thursday at 7 p.m.
