Men's Golf Coach Makes Cut At PGA's Buick Challenge

TAR HEEL COACH MAKES CUT AT PGA'S BUICK CHALLENGE
PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- John Inman, North Carolina's head men's golf coach, made the cut at the Buick Challenge, this week's stop on the PGA Tour. Inman fired rounds of 72-68 for a 140 total and stands at four-under-par at the midway point of the 72-hole event.
Two other Tar Heels also survived the cut. Davis Love III enters the third round with a three-under-par score of 141 after rounds of 70-71. Tom Scherrer stands at one-under 143 after posting scores of 72-71 the first two days.
Jeff Maggert holds the lead going into the third round after firing rounds of 63-69 for a 12-under 132 total. Six players are five shots back in second place at seven-under 137 - Paul Azinger, Joe Durant, David Duval, Carl Paulson, Cameron Beckman and Glen Hnatiuk.
The 72-hole event continues through Sunday and is being played at Callaway Gardens Resort (Mountain View) here.
