This Week's Featured Games:
Toronto at Washington (Tuesday, Feb. 5, 8:00 p.m., TBS, CSN, SNET-T): Two of the game's most popular stars will clash when Vince Carter leads the 27-20 Raptors into the MCI Center to face Michael Jordan and the 24-21 Wizards on Tuesday. In the teams' last meeting, a 93-88 Washington victory at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Carter scored 23 points and pulled five boards, but lost the battle to Jordan who tallied 21 points, four rebounds, and three assists and three steals. Both Carter and Jordan will start for the Eastern Conference in Sunday's All-Star Game. Former Tar Heels Brendan Haywood and Hubert Davis will also play significant minutes for Washington. Eric Montross comes off Toronto's bench.
2002 'got milk?' Rookie Challenge (Saturday, Feb. 9, 4:00 p.m., TNT): Former Tar Heel Brendan Haywood will play center for the rookies when they take on the sophomores in Saturday's Rookie Challenge at the All-Star Weekend in Philadelphia. Carolina alumnus Billy Cunningham, a four-time NBA All-Star and 1986 Hall of Fame inductee will coach the sophomore team. Another former Tar Heel, Bobby Jones, also a four-time NBA All-Star, will be Cunningham's assistant. Haywood is averaging 6.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 0.5 apg for the Washington Wizards.
2002 NBA All-Star Game (Sunday, Feb. 10, 5:00 p.m., NBC, CTV): Carolina will be represented by two Eastern Conference starters in NBA's 51st annual All-Star Game in Philadelphia on Sunday. Vince Carter was the leading vote-getter in fan balloting (1,470,176 votes) for the third consecutive season. Sunday's game will mark Carter's third All-Star Game. It will be Jordan's 13th All-Star appearance, Jordan received 985,448 votes.
Vince Carter (Toronto Raptors)
Last Week: Carter will start for the Eastern Conference in Sunday's
NBA All-Star Game in Philadelphia, it will be his third All-Star appearance.
Last week, Carter scored a team-high 26 points to go along with three
rebounds, one assist and one steal in Toronto's 98-91 road loss to the
Eastern Conference-leading New Jersey Nets on Saturday. He also tallied a
game-high 27 points, ten rebounds, four assists, five steals and a block in
the Raptors' 97-92 home victory against the Celtics on Thursday. Toronto is
27-20 and in second place in the Central Division. Carter currently ranks
fifth in the NBA in points per game (25.7), fifth in three-point field goals
made (98), sixth in minutes per game (40.7), and 18th in steals (77).

Hubert Davis (Washington Wizards)
Last Week: Davis contributed three points, one rebound, two assists
and two steals as a starter in Washington's 89-86 home loss to Detroit on
Tuesday night. He did not play in any of the Wizards' three other games last
week. Washington is 24-21 and in third place in the Atlantic Division. Davis
currently ranks seventh in the NBA in three-point field-goal percentage
(.45).

Joseph Forte (Boston Celtics)
Last Week: Forte played just two minutes in Boston's 109-90 loss at
Milwaukee on Tuesday. He did not play in any of the Celtics' three other
games last week. Boston is second in the Atlantic Division at 27-20.

Rick Fox (Los Angeles Lakers)
Last Week: Fox had seven points, five rebounds, and seven assists in
the Lakers' 101-94 road victory at Dallas on Sunday. He also had 10 points,
four rebounds, and seven assists in a 100-85 win at Memphis on Friday night.
On Wednesday, Fox tallied 12 points, four rebounds, and five assists in a
111-93 road win against the Magic. He had 11 points, six rebounds, four
assists, two steals and a block 127-93 blowout win over Atlanta on Tuesday.
Los Angeles is now 33-12 and is in second place in the Pacific Division.

Last Week: Haywood will play for the rookie team in the 2002 'got
milk?' Rookie Challenge on Saturday at All-Star Weekend in Philadelphia.
Last week, Haywood scored eight points, grabbed seven rebounds, made one
assist and blocked one shot in Washington's 109-89 home win versus Indiana
on Sunday. He also had five points, four boards, one steal and three blocks
in the Wizards' 97-90 home win against the Hawks on Friday night. On
Thursday, Haywood contributed one point, one rebound and one block in 16
minutes off the bench in a 93-92 road win at Cleveland. He also scored one
point, pulled six boards, dished one assist, made one steal and blocked two
shots in Washington's 89-86 home loss to the Pistons on Tuesday. The
Wizards, at 24-21, hold the East's sixth playoff spot at week's start.
Haywood ranks 18th in the NBA in blocks per game (1.79) and sixth in
offensive rebounds per 48 minutes (6.1)

Last Week: Jamison poured in a game-high 27 points to go along with
10 rebounds and two assists in Golden State's 98-97 home loss to the Suns on
Sunday. On Friday, he contributed a game-high 26 points, seven rebounds and
two assists in the Warriors' 104-98 loss at Phoenix. Jamison scored a five
points, pulled five rebounds, dished one assist, made two steals and blocked
a shot Tuesday's 100-96 overtime loss at Houston. The Warriors, at 14-31,
are in seventh place in the Pacific. Jamison is currently ranked 19th in the
NBA in offensive rebounds per game (2.7), 19th in free throw attempts (237)
and tied for 25th in points per game (19.3).

scored a team-high 23 points to go along with five rebounds, and six assists
in Washington's 109-89 home win versus Indiana on Sunday. He also posted a
game-high 28 points, four rebounds, a team-high eight assists, two steals
and two blocks in a 97-90 home win versus Atlanta on Friday. Jordan hit a
buzzer-beating, game-winning shot in the Wizards' 93-92 win at Cleveland on
Thursday. He had a game-high 28 points, five rebounds, a team-high eight
assists and one steal against the Cavs. On Tuesday, he tallied a game-high
32 points, five rebounds, a team-high seven assists and a block in a 89-86
home loss to Detroit. Washington is 24-21 and in third place in the Atlantic
Division. Jordan currently ranks seventh in the NBA in points per game
(25.2) and first in the league in field goal attempts per 48 minutes
(31.55).

George Lynch (Charlotte Hornets)
Last Week: Lynch set season-highs in points (12), assists (4) steals
(3) and minutes played (37) as a starter in Charlotte's 97-79 win at Memphis
on Sunday. On Friday, he had four points, six rebounds and one assist in his
first start of the year, a dramatic 73-72 win at Houston. Lynch registered
two points, a season-high nine rebounds, one assist, two steals and one
block in Tuesday's 78-73 Hornets' road victory in San Antonio. The Hornets
are 23-23 and in fifth place in the Central Division.

Jeff McInnis (Los Angeles
Clippers)
Last Week: McInnis put up 14 points, four rebounds, and seven assists
in the Clippers' 104-91 loss at Boston on Sunday. He also had nine points,
two rebounds, eight assists and one steal in L.A.'s 101-94 road loss to the
Hawks on Saturday. On Thursday, McInnis scored 15 points, grabbed five
rebounds and dished nine assists in a 91-87 road defeat of San Antonio. He
had a game and season-high 31 points, including a career-high five
three-point field goals made, three rebounds, eight assists and two steals
in a 117-100 win at Dallas on Tuesday. McInnis had 16 points, two rebounds,
eight assists and one steal in a 119-115 overtime loss at Memphis on Monday.
The Clippers are 24-25 and are in sixth place in the Pacific Division.
McInnis is currently ranked 20th in the NBA in assists per game (5.5), 14th
in assists per turnover (3.23) and is 10th in total minutes played
(1,813).

Eric Montross (Toronto
Raptors)
Last Week: Montross scored six points, grabbed eight rebounds,
including a season-high five off the offensive glass, and had two steals in
Toronto's 98-91 road loss to New Jersey on Saturday. He had one rebound in
seven minutes off the bench in the Raptors' 97-92 home win over Boston on
Thursday. Toronto enters the week at 27-20, and is in second place in
the Central Division.

2001-02 Season Stats: 1.9 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 0.3 apg
Last Week: Stackhouse tallied a team-high 23 points, four rebounds,
five assists, one steal and one block in a 115-107 Pistons' road win at
Cleveland on Sunday. He also tied for a game-high with 18 points, three
rebounds, seven assists, and one steal in a 85-83 home loss to the Magic on
Friday night. On Wednesday, Stackhouse contributed a game-high 32 points,
two rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block in Detroit's 88-71 home
victory over Atlanta. He had a team-high 24 points, six rebounds, six
assists and one steal in a 89-86 win at Washington on Tuesday. The Pistons,
at 24-21, are in third place in the Central Division. Stackhouse currently
ranks 10th in the NBA in points per game (23.5) and 11th in free throw
percentage (.876).

Last Week: Wallace contributed 13 points, eight rebounds, three
assists and one steal in Portland's 101-96 home win versus the Bulls on
Sunday. He scored 13 points, pulled four boards, dished three assists, and
made a steal in the Blazers' 97-96 loss at Utah on Saturday. Wallace tied
for a team-high with 20 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks
in a 105-97 home defeat of the Suns. He also tallied 16 points, 13 rebounds,
one assists, two steals and a season-high five blocks in Tuesday's 92-86 win
at Seattle. The Trail Blazers are 25-21 and in third place in the Pacific
Division. Wallace ranks 18th in the NBA in double-doubles (17) and is tied
for 18th in rebounds per game (8.5).

Last Week: Williams did not play in any of the Nuggets' games last

Shammond Williams (Seattle
SuperSonics)
Last Week: Williams scored three points and grabbed one rebound in

in either of Seattle's other two games last week. The Sonics, at 23-23, are
currently in fifth place in the Pacific.
