GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina's Erin McInnes, who helped the Tar Heels defeat two ranked opponents over the weekend, was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
McInnes is the third Tar Heel winner of the ACC Player of the Week award, joining Lindsay Stone (twice) and Katelyn Hoffman.
McInnes, a senior attacker from Baltimore, Md., recorded four goals helping the Tar Heels to road wins over No. 19 George Mason (10-6) and No. 1 Georgetown (11-10).
She scored three of her goals against the Hoyas, including the game-winner with 48 seconds to play, breaking a 10-10 tie. North Carolina overcame a four-goal deficit to snap Georgetown's eight-game winning streak.
The Tar Heels have defeated a No. 1 ranked team for the third time this season. They beat Maryland 13-11 on March 3 and Duke 10-4 on March 16.
North Carolina is currently 9-2 overall and 2-1 in the ACC.
