No. 13 Tar Heels Fall To Old Dominion, 73-68

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Myriah Spence hit two 3-pointers in a late 13-3 run, and Old Dominion rallied to a 73-68 victory over No. 13 North Carolina on Sunday.
The Lady Monarchs beat a top-25 team for the second time this season. They beat No. 8 Penn State 75-68 on Nov. 25.
Old Dominion (4-3) used the run to open a 64-55 lead and held on as the Tar Heels pulled within a shot several times down the stretch.
Leah Metcalf hit a jumper that pulled North Carolina within 68-66 with 50 seconds left, but the Lady Monarchs scored the next five points and dealt the Tar Heels (6-1) their first loss.
Camille Little led North Carolina with 23 points, and La'Tangela Atkinson had 14.
Spence and Monique Coker each scored 17 for Old Dominion. Coker also had nine rebounds. Shareese Grant added 13 points and Max Nhassengo finished with 12 points and six steals.
Two free throws by Atkinson gave North Carolina a 52-51 lead with 10:47 remaining, but Spence hit her second 3-pointer to put the Lady Monarchs in front. Coker added a free throw and Lawona Davis scored as Old Dominion opened up a 57-52 lead with 9:25 left.
Little hit a free throw and followed Grant's basket with a layup to keep it close, but Spence made another 3-pointer and Davis added a layup.
Old Dominion shot 5-for-8 from the line in the final 2:28 to help seal the win.
