Throughout the 2002-03 season, senior forward Jennifer Thomas will provide TarHeelBlue.com readers with an inside look at the Carolina women's basketball program. This installment is her ninth of the season.
Hello Tar Heel fans!!
First off, I would like to wish everyone a belated Happy Valentine's Day. I hope you all received tons of candy and flowers and if you didn't that's okay because I still love ya!!!
Second, I hope everyone is staying warm with all of this ice and snow we've received - hey, it's starting to remind me of back home (Michigan), therefore, please drive slow and safely because the roads can be very deceiving.
So, have you guys missed me? The past three weeks have been extremely busy for me. And I thought the load would ease up because I am a senior - who was I kidding!!! But this week has been hectic. I am trying to go to Italy to study abroad, and filling out that application and getting all the material, as well as practicing and doing my other homework, has been crucial. But, like a true champion, I will survive!
In terms of basketball, things have been a little shaky. Yesterday we played Clemson in front of a sell-out crowd - just kidding, there were about 30 people there because of the snow storm - and won. But the victory wasn't pretty at all. We won by four points and got outrebounded. WE REALLY HAVE TO PICK THINGS UP!! Because, as you all know, we are playing Duke on Thursday and they're playing some pretty good basketball right now.
This week of practice will be very intense and will help us prepare to play Duke on Thursday. Everyone is looking forward to the game because of how things went down when we played them at Carmichael. So, if you all aren't busy on Thursday at 7 p.m., drive down to Cameron Indoor and watch two of the best teams in the country compete for bragging rights and the ACC regular season title. It's going to be a good one!! But if you can't see the game in person, it's going to be on TV (Fox Sports, Comcast, Sunshine Network).
Well, my bed is calling my name... Good night.
