Smith Center to Host World's Greatest Alumni Game on Saturday

CHAPEL HILL - The University of North Carolina 's Dean E. Smith Center will play host to the second annual "World's Greatest Alumni Basketball Game," to be played on the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 23 at 4 p.m. The game will feature a team of former Carolina players against a team of former Atlantic Coast Conference stars and other selected players.
The event's host, former Tar Heel All-America Jerry Stackhouse, is a national spokesman for the American Diabetes Association (ADA). All proceeds from the game will benefit the North Carolina chapter of the ADA.
Invited former Tar Heel participants include: Vince Carter, Hubert Davis, Rick Fox, Brendan Haywood, Antawn Jamison, George Lynch, Jeff McInnis, Eric Montross, Sam Perkins, Kenny Smith, Stackhouse, Rasheed Wallace, Donald Williams and Shammond Williams.
Other invited friends and ACC alumni include: Darrell Armstrong (Fayetteville State), Elton Brand (Duke), Chucky Brown (NC State), Juan Dixon (Maryland), Tim Duncan (Wake Forest), Mike Dunleavy Jr. (Duke), Steve Francis (Maryland), Grant Hill (Duke), Dahntay Jones (Duke), Corey Maggette (Duke), Ricky Price (Duke) and Rodney Rogers (Wake Forest).
The teams will be coached by former UNC All-America Phil Ford and N.C. Central University head coach Phil Spence.
