Martin Ureta Continues Impressive Play In Isleworth Collegiate Invitational

WINDERMERE, Fla. - Sophomore Martin Ureta, fresh off his thrilling playoff victory in the Duke Classic, began the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational Monday in line for another title. Ureta cruised through the first two rounds posting two, two-under-par 70s to place him in a tie for sixth, just three strokes off the lead.
Georgia Tech's Roberto Castro, Oklahoma State's Pablo Martin and Florida's Matt Every all shot seven-under par and comprise the trio atop the talent-laden field. Every and Texas's Matthew Rosenfield carded the best one round scores of the day with 67s in the opening round.
Tar Heel junior Matt Crenshaw also continued his strong play sitting in a tie for 27th after the second round. Carolina fired a combined 610 for the two rounds and sits twelfth going into the fianl round in a field that includes nine teams in Golf World's Top 25 including the poll's top six teams. Georgia, who currently stands first in the Golf World rankings, leads the tournament after shooting a one-over 577. They are followed closely by Georgia Tech at three-over and Oklahoma State at six-over.
Tomorrow's final round should be highly competitive with eight teams within 13 shots of the lead.
Tournament host Central Florida is one stroke behind the Tar Heels in thirteenth.
Play concludes with tomorrow morning's 18-hole final round. The tournament is the first official competitive event held at Isleworth Country Club, home to the PGA's Tiger Woods and Mark O'Meara.
