UNC Returns To Action Tuesday

Tip-off
After a nine-day holiday break, the North Carolina women's basketball team (9-1) returns to action on Tuesday with a home game against Lipscomb University (5-2). Tipoff is 2 p.m. at Carmichael Auditorium.
Carolina is ranked No. 6 in this week's Associated Press poll and No. 6 in the coaches' poll. Lipscomb is not ranked.
Up next
On Thursday, Dec. 30, UNC hosts Old Dominion at the Dean E. Smith Center. Tipoff is 4 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for
Carmichael Auditorium at 2 p.m. but the time and location were moved due to the UNC football team's participation in the Continental Tire Bowl that day at 1 p.m.

The game between UNC and Lipscomb will be broadcast on the internet only and is available at www.TarHeelBlue.com. Jones Angell handles play-by-play for UNC and Adam Pohl provides color commentary.
Tickets
General admission tickets to UNC women's basketball games are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. A limited number of reserved seats are also available at $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors.
Tickets may be purchased at the Carmichael Auditorium ticket window prior to the game or through the UNC ticket office by calling (919) 962-2296 or (800) 722-HEEL.
North Carolina students, faculty and staff are admitted free with their UNC One Cards.

The UNC-Lipscomb series
UNC and Lipscomb have never met in women's basketball.
Scouting the Lady Bisons
Lipscomb is 5-2 on the season following a 92-56 win over Fisk on Dec. 7. The Lady Bisons opened the season with losses at Memphis (57-52) and to Samford (66-51) and have since won five games in a row. In addition to the win over Fisk, Lipscomb has beaten Birmingham-Southern (65-60), Kent State (62-60), Florida Atlantic (91-87 in OT) and Central Florida (67-60).
Senior Courtney Boynton leads the team in scoring with 18.4 points per game. Sophomore Penny Jones is next at 8.4 points per game. Junior Katie Beth Pate is the team's top rebounder with 9.0 boards per game.
The Lady Bisons, who finished 20-12 last season and played in the NCAA Tournament, are coached by Frank Bennett, who is in his 25th season at the school.
UNC's last time out
Dec. 19, 2004: No. 5 UNC 79, Georgia State 44
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - A pair of South Carolina products led the way in a return to their home state as UNC beat Georgia State 79-44 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Sophomore Ivory Latta (McConnells, S.C.) scored 17 points and junior La'Tangela Atkinson (Bishopville, S.C.) registered a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Freshman Erlana Larkins was the third Tar Heel in double figures with 14 points.
Three Lady Panthers scored in double figures led by April Clyburn's 13 points.
Carolina shot 51.6 percent in the first half on the way to a 45-25 lead at the break. The Tar Heels outrebounded GSU 40-32.
