Freshman forward Camille Little scored 27 points in Carolina's 66-60 women's basketball win over Florida State and is the Carolina Waterscapes Student-Athlete of the Week for Jan. 26-Feb. 1, 2004.
Little, from Winston-Salem, averaged 18 points and 8.3 rebounds last week as No. 10 Carolina went 2-1 in ACC games. Against Florida State on Sunday, she scored 27 points, one shy of her career high, as the Tar Heels won 66-60. On the season, she leads UNC (17-3, 7-2 ACC) in scoring (14.9 points per game) and is the top rebounder in the conference (8.4 per game).

Yuri Suguiyama won two individual events and was part of one second place relay as North Carolina swam to a convincing 181-116 win over Maryland. Swimming collegiately for the final time in his home state, Suguiyama won the 1000-yard freestyle in a time just .25 off his season best time. Later, he won the 500-yard freestyle to blunt a Maryland rally during the second half of the meet. Suguiyama swam the second leg on UNC's 400-yard freestyle relay in a season best split of 46.03 seconds. UNC's win clinched the 65th straight winning or even record for the Tar Heels overall in men's swimming and the 51st straight winning or even record for Carolina in ACC dual meets.
