Manuel Named to All-ACC Defensive Team

Jackie Manuel, a junior from West Palm Beach, Fla., was named to the 2003-04 All-Atlantic Coast Conference DefensiveTeam in voting by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. Manuel was joined on the All-ACC Defensive Team by Duke's Shelden Williams and Chris Duhon, Florida State's Tim Pickett and Wake Forest freshman point guard Chris Paul.
"Jackie Manuel is a true impact player and one of the finest defensive players in the country," says Carolina head coach Roy Williams. "He changes the game with his energy, his attention to detail and his athleticism. He has made a difference for us on both ends of the floor, but especially on defense where he has been outstanding. You don't have to start to be an impact player, and I can't think of anyone who makes more of a difference on defense that Jackie Manuel."
