NBA Update: All-Star Break

Former Tar Heel teammates Vince Carter and Antawn Jamison helped the Eastern All-Stars defeat the Western All-Stars 125-115 in the 2005 NBA All-Star game played in Denver, Co. The victory snapped the West's three-game winning streak. Carter scored 11 points in his sixth appearance as an All-Star, while Jamison scored five points in his All-Star debut.
One of the most memorable moments from this year's game came in the second quarter when Vince Carter lobbed a pass to himself off the backboard for a one-handed dunk. Fans at NBA.com voted Carter's dunk the most electrifying moment of the weekend.
Update on former Tar Heels in the NBA:
Vince Carter, New Jersey Nets - In his sixth All-Star appearance he started at guard for the East in the 2005 NBA All-Star Game. Carter scored 11 points and grabbed three rebounds to help the East defeat the West 125-115. Up to the All-Star break he averages 21.9 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game. The Nets return to action Tuesday night against the Toronto Raptors. This will be the first time Carter has faced his former team since being traded in December.
Brendan Haywood, Washington Wizards - Up to the All-Star break he averages 9.1 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game. Haywood ranks in the top 15 in the NBA in offensive rebounds per game and blocks per game. The Wizards return to action Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Antawn Jamison, Washington Wizards - Played at forward for the East in his first NBA All-Star game. He had five points and four rebounds to help the East to defeat the West 125-115. Up to the All-Star break Jamison averages 20.8 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game for the Wizards.
Jeff McInnis, Cleveland Cavaliers - Up to the All-Star break he averages 14.9 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game. McInnis has started 49 of 51 games for the Cavaliers and ranks ninth in the NBA in assists per turnover. The Cavaliers return to action Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls.
Jerry Stackhouse, Dallas Mavericks - Up to the All-Star break he averages 15.8 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game. Stackhouse has helped lead the Mavericks to fourth place in the Western Conference with 31 games remaining in the regular season. The Mavericks return to action against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.
Rasheed Wallace, Detroit Pistons - Up to the All-Star break he averages 13.6 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game. Wallace has started in 50 of 51 games. The Pistons return to Action Tuesday night against the New York Knicks.
