He's the greatest player in basketball history. He's a two-time Olympic gold medalist. He made one of the most famous shots in North Carolina basketball history.

But when he comes back to Chapel Hill, Michael Jordan is simply a "Local Hero." That's the cover line on the copy of the Carolina Alumni Review from 1999 that is offered in this week's TarHeelBlue.com auction. The magazine itself makes a nice keepsake. What makes this copy even more special is that it's been personally signed by Jordan in black Sharpie. In addition to the cover photo, the inside pages include several more color photos of Jordan and an excerpt from David Halberstam's book on Jordan, "Playing for Keeps."
