GREENSBORO -- University of North Carolina freshman forward Brandan Wright was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week, the ACC announced on Monday evening.

Wright turned in a pair of stellar performances for the second straight week, averaging 20 points, 10.5 rebounds and shooting 61.5 percent from the floor in the NIT Season Tip-off. Against Gonzaga Wednesday, the Nashville, Tenn., native scored 21 points and posted 13 rebounds and four blocked shots. On Friday versus Tennessee, the 6-foot-9 forward tallied 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field and pulled down eight boards as the second-ranked Tar Heels notched a 101-87 victory.

Carolina returns to action on Wednesday night when it hosts No. 1-ranked Ohio State at 9 p.m. in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at the Smith Center in Chapel Hill.
