Update on former Tar Heels in the NBA:
Vince Carter, New Jersey Nets- Started two games as the Nets won one and dropped one. In a 91-86 win over the Bulls, Carter had 21 points and 5 rebounds. The next night, the Nets fell to the Cavs, 96-91, and he had 18 points and 7 rebounds. For the year, Carter is averaging 25.0 ppg, 5.9 rpg, and 4.0 apg. He is the NBA's 11th leading scorer.
Raymond Felton, Charlotte Bobcats- Started two games as the Bobcats lost to the Timberwolves and Magic. On 9 of 19 shooting (3-5 3PT), Felton had 22 points against the Timberwolves along with 9 assists. He added 11 points and 7 assists in the Magic game. On the season, Felton is averaging 13.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg, and 7.5 apg. He is in the top 20 for both minutes (38.2 mpg) and steals (1.5 apg).
Brendan Haywood, Washington Wizards- Started three games as the Wizards won two games at home, but dropped a road game in Toronto. In a win over the Bucks, he had 4 points and 6 rebounds. Two nights later against the Clippers, he had 13 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. In the loss to the Raptors, he totaled 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks. On the season, Haywood is averaging 6.7 ppg and 6.6 rpg.
Antawn Jamison, Washington Wizards- Started three games as the Wizards went 2-1 over that stretch. On 9 of 20 shooting (3-8 3PT), he had 22 points and 9 rebounds in a win over the Bucks. Against the Clippers, he had 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks, while he added 17 points and 14 rebounds in the loss to Toronto. On the season, Jamison is averaging 19.4 ppg, 8.4 rpg, and 1.8 apg. Jamison is tenth in the NBA in minutes (39.0 mpg).
Sean May, Charlotte Bobcats- Played in 2 games and saw 25 minutes of action in each as the Bobcats dropped both games. In the loss to the Timberwolves, he had 12 points and 7 rebounds, while against the Magic, he had 3 points and 8 rebounds. On the season, May is averaging 11.9 ppg, 6.7 rpg, and 1.8 apg.
Rashad McCants, Minnesota Timberwolves- Recovering from microfracture surgery on his right knee and may return to action in late January.
Jeff McInnis, Charlotte Bobcats- Played one game and saw 16 minutes on the floor in a loss to the Magic. It was his first game with the Bobcats as he was traded earlier in the week from the Nets in exchange for Bernard Robinson. In the game, McInnis finished with 2 points and 1 assist.
David Noel, Milwaukee Bucks- Played one game as the Bucks fell to the Nuggets. Noel had 2 points, 1 rebound, and 3 assists in 18 minutes of action. On the season, Noel has seen action in 23 games. In those contests, he is averaging 2.0 ppg, 1.4 rpg, and 8.9 mpg. He saw his most significant action late in November against the 76ers as he had 11 points on 4 of 6 shooting (1-3 3PT) along with 7 assists and 2 blocks.
Jerry Stackhouse, Dallas Mavericks- Played 3 games as the Mavericks went 2-1. In the win over the Pacers, he had 6 points. The next night against the Spurs, he added 4 in 10 minutes of action and the Mavs extended their win-streak to 13. That streak ended Sunday night against the Lakers where Stackhouse scored 14 and connected on 3 three-pointers. On the season, he is averaging 10.9 ppg, 2.4 rpg, and 2.2 apg.
Rasheed Wallace, Detroit Pistons- Started 2 games as the Pistons went 1-1. In the Pistons win over the Hornets, Wallace had 2 points and 10 rebounds. He followed that performance up with 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a loss to the Bulls. On the season, Wallace is averaging 12.2 ppg, 8.7 rpg, and 1.7 apg.
Marvin Williams, Atlanta Hawks- Started 2 games as the Hawks dropped both games. Williams had 24 points and 5 rebounds against the Raptors and 8 points and 5 rebounds in loss to the Clippers. On the season, Williams is averaging 12.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, and 1.4 apg.
Shammond Williams, Los Angeles Lakers- Played in 1 game and had 2 assists and 2 rebounds in 7 minutes of action in a win over the Nuggets. On the season, Williams is averaging 0.9 ppg, 1.0 rpg, and 0.9 apg.
