The Tar Heels are 0-2 on the road so far this season and 1-0 at neutral sites. After beating 2005 NCAA champion Johns Hopkins 13-10 last Saturday when the Blue Jays were ranked No. 5 in the nation, the Tar Heels will be looking for a second straight win over a Top 10 opponent. The last time UNC beat Top 10 opponents in back-to-back games was 2004, the last time the Tar Heels appeared in the NCAA Tournament. After playing at Virginia Saturday, the Tar Heels will close the regular season with a game at Fairfield on April 15 and the home finale against Providence on April 21. The Tar Heels will play in the ACC Tournament at Durham, N.C. on April 27 and 29.

That includes a mark of 10-20 in games played at Charlottesville, 8-19 in games played in Chapel Hill and 2-2 in games played at neutral sites. The Cavaliers have won three games in a row against the Tar Heels including a 21-13 win over UNC last season in Chapel Hill. The Cavaliers defeated the Tar Heels 15-9 in Charlottesville in 2005 in the last meeting between the two teams there. Carolina has beaten the Cavaliers twice in this decade, winning 11-9 in Chapel Hill in 2004 and 7-5 in Charlottesville in 2001. The Tar Heels are 2-13 in their last 15 games against Virginia and 1-6 in their last seven games against the Cavaliers in Charlottesville.
HAUS NAMED NATIONAL COACH OF THE WEEK: John Haus was selected this past Monday as the U.S. Lacrosse Coach of the Week for the week ending April 1. He will be recognized on CSTV's lacrosse broadcast this weekend. Haus and North Carolina jumped back into the thick of the NCAA Tournament picture with a 13-10 victory over Johns Hopkins last week. It was Carolina's first victory over the Blue Jays since 1994, ending a string of 13 straight defeats. UNC rose to No. 10 in the USILA and No. 11 in the Inside Lacrosse poll this week and plays at No. 3/No. 2 Virginia Saturday.
