GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina's Wayne Ellington was named ACC Player of the Week and Duke's Kyle Singler was selected as ACC Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
A unanimous selection as the player of the week, Ellington scored an ACC-high 36 points, including the game-winning three-pointer with 0.4 seconds to play, in the Tar Heels' 90-88 overtime win at Clemson Sunday night.
On the week, the Wynnewood, Pa., sophomore averaged 26.5 points in two wins on 19-of-30 shooting from the floor, 6-for-11 from three-point range and 9-of-11 from the free throw line. Ellington's 36 points was a career high and the most by a Tar Heel since Tyler Hansbrough scored 40 points two years ago.
