Top-Seeded Carolina Meets Georgia Tuesday

NORFOLK, Va. --- North Carolina (31-2) will shoot for its fourth straight trip to the Sweet 16 when the top-seeded Tar Heels face eighth-seeded Georgia Tuesday at 9 p.m. at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va. Carolina advanced to the second round with an 85-50 win over 16th-seeded Bucknell on Sunday. Georgia (23-9), an at-large qualifier from the Southeastern Conference, advanced with a 67-61 win over ninth-seeded Iowa on Sunday. Carolina is ranked No. 2 in the AP poll and the coaches' poll. Georgia is ranked No. 24 in the coaches' poll.

GEORGIA SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina is 0-5 all-time against Georgia.
• UNC and Georgia have met twice in the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs won a first round game, 72-70, in Athens in 1983 and a regional semifinal, 83-57, in Portland, Ore., in 2000. The 2000 meeting was the most recent game in the series.
CAROLINA IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
• UNC enters the tournament as a No. 1 seed for the fifth time in school history and the fourth season in a row. Carolina was also a No. 1 seed in 1997.
• Carolina improved to 14-3 all-time in NCAA first round games with the win over Bucknell Sunday, with its last loss coming to Middle Tennessee in 2004.
• The Tar Heels are now 18-17 all-time in NCAA Tournament games played away from Chapel Hill.
