ACC Student Ticket Costs Rank Lowest

Here in Chapel Hill, we take the cost of student basketball tickets--free--for granted. As it turns out, though, that's not the case elsewhere. An Oklahoma television station did an in-depth survey of college sports' most and least expensive student tickets and discovered Oklahoma State ranks as the most expensive student ticket in the nation.
Of more interest locally, however, was the fact that the Atlantic Coast Conference's student basketball tickets have the lowest average ($17.25) in the country. In fact, only three league schools--Boston College, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest--charge for their student basketball seats. Compare that to the Big Ten, where the average student pays $120.82 for the privilege of attending such scintillating games as last night's 38-33 Illinois win over Penn State. No word yet on how many of the students in the crowd of 16,200 demanded a refund of their $133.
A couple years ago, the TarHeelBlue.com Mailbag also looked into student seating and found that Carolina students get a pretty good deal when it comes to the quantity of seats available (scroll down for the chart).
