Tar Heels Bounce Back With 12-6 Win At Denver

DENVER, COLO. - Chelsea Parks scored three goals and Jenn Russell, Megan Bosica and Corey Donohoe had two goals apiece as ninth-ranked North Carolina defeated Denver 12-6 on Monday afternoon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium in Denver.
The Tar Heels rebounded after losing two consecutive games in the last week, a 12-7 home loss to Northwestern and an 11-2 road defeat at Penn.
Parks led North Carolina (4-2) with three goals, while Russell, Donohoe and Bosica each had two goals in the victory. Kristen Carr had a goal and an assist and freshman Becky Lynch added two assists.
Denver (4-4) was led by senior Megan Carver, who had three points on one goal and two assists. DU also received goals from junior Lexi Sanders, senior Karen Morton, junior Ali Flury, senior Jenn Moore, and freshman Becca Steinberg.
The visiting Tar Heels outshot the Pioneers 33-19 in the game.
Freshman goalkeeper Ashley Harman had 11 saves for the Pioneers, while Logan Ripley made eight for North Carolina.
The Tar Heels will return to action on Saturday, when they host Atlantic Coast Conference foe Virginia at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill.
