Eleven Tar Heels were among the 94 East Atlantic Gymnastics League gymnasts named to the EAGL All-Academic team, the league announced Monday. Seniors Teri Diamond, Tina Jacob and Kara Wright were named to the team for the fourth consecutive year.

In order to be named to the EAGL All-Academic team, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Freshmen are also eligible, if they earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester.

Six Tar Heels had previously received all-academic honors, including junior Krista Jasper who was honored for her academic achievements for the third consecutive season. All four of Carolina's freshmen earned the honor as well.
