Chapel Hill, N.C. ----- A special edition of Butch Davis Live!, the popular radio call-in show featuring the head coach of the Tar Heels, will be held Wednesday, April 7 at 7 p.m. from Top of the Hill restaurant in downtown Chapel Hill. The radio show will be conducted in the new Great Room at Top of the Hill, a unique space which can accommodate larger audiences and is accessible from the existing restaurant and brewery.
Davis, who is entering his fourth season at Carolina, will be joined by some of Carolina's all-star football candidates to discuss spring practice and the upcoming Spring Football Game, which is slated for Saturday, April 10 at 3 p.m. Admission to the game is free. For the first time in school history, Carolina's Spring Game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Woody Durham, who is entering his 40th season as the Tar Heels' play-by-play voice, will host the show. The Butch Davis Live! spring show can be heard locally on WCHL 1360 AM and WRDU 106.1 FM. Listeners can also hear the show on TarHeelBlue.com.
Carolina returns 21 starters (10 offense, 9 defense, 2 special teams) from last season's 8-5 team that played Pittsburgh in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. The Tar Heels led the ACC and finished No. 6 in the nation in total defense. Carolina opens the 2010 season vs. LSU in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic on Sept. 4 Atlanta. The game will be televised nationally on ABC at 8 p.m. from the Georgia Dome.
