Bullock Named Tar Heel Performer Of The Week

Freshman Reggie Bullock of the North Carolina men's basketball team is the Tar Heel Performer of the Week for January 17-23, 2010. Bullock, a forward from Kinston, N.C., scored a season-high 18 points in Carolina's 75-65 win over Clemson. Bullock was 6 for 10 from the floor, including 3 of 7 from three-point range. He scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half as the Tar Heels built a 46-38 lead, scoring 18 points more thanthey averaged in the first half of their previous three ACC games. Bullock also had five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Jose has continued to play exceptionally well this season as the
30th-ranked singles player in the nation. Following an excellent showing last weekend at the National Collegiate Tennis Classic, Jose didn't drop a single game in his victory over Campbell's Charles Martin-LeCamp and teamed with Brennan Boyajian to defeat Anthony Davison and Krzysztof Kwasniewicz in doubles. Jose will continue to be tested in his first full season playing consistently at the top singles flight when the Tar Heels head to Athens, Georgia next week for ITA Team Indoor qualifying.

Smith won both backstroke events and swam the backstroke leg on UNC's victorious 200-yard medley relay in the Tar Heels' dual meet performance against Virginia. Smith took first place in both backstrokes in NCAA "B" qualifying times. She also had a season best time in the 200-yard individual medley.

Kinderwater missed his season best time in the 1000-yard freestyle by just five one-hundredths of a second while winning that event and also took a second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in Carolina's dual meet against Virginia.

Zoe De Bruycker opened the 2011 dual match season with a pair of straight-set winsover opponents from Winthrop and Elon on Sunday. De Bruycker defeated Winthrop's Yasmine Alkema, 6-1, 6-2, in the morning match and topped Elon'sFrida Jansaker, 6-1, 6-0, in the nightcap.
