Coples Named One Of 20 Quarterfinalists For Lott Trophy

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation has announced 20 quarter-finalists for the annual Lott IMPACT Trophy and it includes North Carolina defensive end Quinton Coples.
The list includes four defensive linemen, six linebackers and 10 defensive backs. There are six players from the Big Ten, four from the SEC, three from the Pac-12, three from the ACC, two from the Big-12 and one each from the Big East and an independent, Notre Dame.

Named after Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, the Lott Trophy is awarded to college football's Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year. Now in its eighth year, the Lott Trophy is the first college football award to equally recognize athletic performance and the personal character attributes of the player. Sponsored by The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation in Newport Beach, the award is given to the player who exhibits the same characteristics Lott embodied during his distinguished career: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
