North Carolina will play its second of three games in five days when it hosts Nicholls on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Smith Center. The Tar Heels beat Appalachian State, 97-82, on Saturday and will host Texas on Wednesday night.
The game will be televised by ESPNU. Jon Sciambi (play-by-play) and Hubert Davis (analyst) will have the call for ESPNU.
After playing five of its first eight games away from home, Carolina is in the midst of a nine-game homestand that will include the final seven non-conference games of the year and the first two Atlantic Coast Conference contests against Boston College and Miami.
Carolina was ranked No. 5 in the Associated Press poll and No. 6 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll last week (updated polls were scheduled to be released on Monday afternoon).
UNC is 9-2 this season after its win over Appalachian State on Saturday.
Nicholls enters Monday's game with a record of 4-7 and is 1-5 on the road this season. The Colonels have won three of their last four games since starting 1-6, however.
UPCOMING: After Monday's game, Carolina will conclude its stretch of three games in five games when it plays Wednesday against Texas. After an eight-day break for Christmas, the Tar Heels will play their final non-conference games of the regular season when they host Elon (Dec. 29) and Monmouth (Jan. 1). UNC's Atlantic Coast Conference opener is Jan. 7 against Boston College.
