CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina will try to return to the win column after suffering its first loss of the season when the Tar Heels host Lipscomb Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Carmichael Arena. UNC is 5-1 on the year following a 103-84 loss at Penn State last Wednesday. Lipscomb is 2-8 on the season after a 66-61 win at Tennessee Tech on Monday. UNC is ranked No. 18 in the AP poll and No. 17 in the coaches' poll. Lipscomb is unranked.

• North Carolina is 1-0 all-time against Lipscomb.
• Carolina defeated Lipscomb in Chapel Hill, 91-45, on Dec. 28, 2004.
SCOUTING THE LADY BISONS
• Lipscomb is 2-8 on the season following a 66-61 win at Tennessee Tech on Monday.
• The Lady Bisons are led by junior guard Hannah Phillips. Phillips is tops on the squad in scoring with 12.0 points per game and second in rebounding with 5.3 boards per outing.
• Lipscomb is the third Atlantic Sun opponent the Tar Heels have faced so far in 2011-12. Carolina has already defeated A-Sun foes USC Upstate and Kennesaw State. Sunday's opponent ETSU is also a member of the A-Sun.
TAR HEELS IN CARMICHAEL ARENA
• Carolina is 401-89 all-time in Carmichael, including a 28-6 record since the building re-opened after being closed for renovations from March 2008 to December 2009.
• The Tar Heels have won at least 14 home games in each of the last 10 seasons, including a school-record 18 during an undefeated 2007-08 home campaign.
• UNC has lost just 15 home games since the start of the 2001-02 season. The Tar Heels have been even more stingy against non-conference opponents, losing at home just twice outside of league play in the last decade.
