No. 15 Carolina Heads South To Face No. 19 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --- North Carolina hits the road to face a top-20 opponent for the second time in 10 days when the Tar Heels visit Florida State Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center. Carolina is 19-3 on the year (5-2 in the ACC) after a 76-51 win over Virginia Tech on Sunday. Florida State is 18-4 (6-1 ACC) following a 76-69 win at NC State on Sunday. UNC is ranked No. 15 in the AP poll and No. 12 in the coaches' poll. Florida State is ranked No. 19 in the AP poll and No. 14 in the coaches' poll.

FLORIDA STATE SERIES NOTES
North Carolina is 27-9 all-time against Florida State, including a 12-4 mark in Tallahassee.
Florida State has won two straight in the series for the first time since 1982. The Seminoles were 77-70 winners in Tallahassee in 2009 and 83-73 winners in Chapel Hill last season.
Prior to FSU's back-to-back victories, Carolina had won four straight in the series and 10 of the last 11.
UNC and FSU will only meet once in the regular season in 2011, the seventh straight year in which the two have played just a single game.
Florida State defeated Carolina in its first ACC game against the Tar Heels, but have won just six times in 32 tries since.
NOTING THE SEMINOLES
Florida State is 18-4 (6-1 ACC) following a 76-69 win at NC State on Sunday.
Junior forward Cierra Brevard leads the Seminoles in both scoring and rebounding with 13.9 points and 7.4 boards per contest.
Senior guard Courtney Ward (12.0), sophomore guard Alexa Deluzio (12.0) and freshman forward Natasha Howard (11.6) also average double figures in scoring.

CHAPEL HILL (AP) --- Italee Lucas scored 19 points to help No. 15 North Carolina beat Virginia Tech 76-51 on Sunday. Laura Broomfield and Waltiea Rolle each had double-doubles for the Tar Heels (19-3, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who shot 47 percent and pulled away in the second half to sweep the two Virginia-based ACC schools this weekend.
DeGRAFFENREID REACHES 500 CAREER FREE THROWS
Senior Cetera DeGraffenreid now owns the school record for career free throws made. With two makes against NC State on Jan. 14, DeGraffenreid passed former Tar Heel All-America forward Erlana Larkins' mark of 489 set from 2004-08. With one make against Virginia Tech on Jan. 30, DeGraffenreid became the fifth player in ACC history to reach 500 career made free throws.
REBOUNDS EQUAL WINS FOR TAR HEELS
Carolina has always stressed the importance of rebounding and that statistic has been a good indicator of success for the Tar Heels over the last five seasons. Since the beginning of the 2006-07 season, Carolina has won the rebounding battle in 120 of 158 games. In those 120 games, UNC sports an overall record of 114-6. The Tar Heels have outrebounded their opponents in 15 of 22 games in 2010-11.
DeGRAFFENREID LEADS NATION IN ASSIST-TURNOVER RATIO
Point guard Cetera DeGraffenreid is having an incredible senior season and is among the nation's leaders in a variety of categories. DeGraffenreid has tallied 125 assists against just 35 turnovers through the season's first 22 games, making her the nation's leader in assist-turnover ratio (3.57). She also ranks 12th in the NCAA in steals per game (3.2) and 18th in assists per game (5.7).
LUCAS ENTERS ACC CAREER THREE-POINT LISTS
Senior guard Italee Lucas has recently entered the ACC career top-25 lists in three-pointers and three-point attempts. With 201 career made threes, Lucas currently ranks 17th in ACC history, while her 557 career attempts are good for 18th.
